In 1951 I arrived in the South Waikato with my parents who immigrated from the UK. Most of my schooling was done at the largest school in the Southern Hemisphere, the Mangakino Primary and High School. I left School to do an Electrical Apprenticeship with the Electricity Dept at the power stations in the area. In 1965 I left the country and roamed the world for 12 months, before returning home and settling down as a married man, two children later and started working in the Hospitality Industry. At this time I joined the N.Z. Fire Service as a Volunteer in Mangakino, I have now been active for 24 years with 21 of these years as Chief Fire Officer.By this time I felt that I needed a new challenge in life, and in 1985 I was offered a job in the Real Estate Industry by Brookes Real Estate Ltd later to become First National, then Lambertons Realty World Ltd, and of late Ray White Ltd.I started selling part time in Mangakino and the surrounding district, this was an exciting time as in 1986 I was selling a property every 10 days, but things did slow down after the stock exchange crash in 1987. In 1994 I joined the team working full time in Tokoroa and Mangakino.
